Rosehip Pattern “Release”

Okay, okay, I know this is not an actual release but it sure feels like it! As you may know, Rosehip was my very first sweater design. I’ve learned a lot about designing and pattern writing since I first released the pattern. I’ve also grown more confident in my ability to grade garments to fit a wider size range. Because of this, I really wanted to do a full revamp of the Rosehip pattern! I saw so many little things that could be improved design-wise… Not to mention that fact that I wanted to make the pattern available for sizes XS – 5XL (like all of my later designs). I decided to get to work, and here we are!

THE PATTERN

Rosehip is a comfy and stylish sweater, which is bound to become a staple in your wardrobe! The sweater is worked up in simple stockinette stitch, spiced up with the coolest bobbles. It features dramatic balloon sleeves and a folded neckband. The bobbles and the balloon sleeves create a unique look which can be paired with many different outfits. This is quite an easy knit – suitable for advanced beginners. Rosehip is designed with Fonty Mongolia 3 – a lovely merino/baby yak blend which is available in a bunch of stunning colors. Rosehip is worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armhole. Rosehip is designed to have some positive ease around the bust (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches).

The pattern is available in English and Dutch. It contains instructions for sizes XS – 5XL (finished bust sizes 84 – 158 cm / 33 – 62 inches).

THE YARN

I used Mongolia 3 (color 014) from Fonty for my Rosehip. Fonty Mongolia 3 is a beautiful and soft sport weight yarn (85% merino, 15% baby yak) that comes in 50 g balls (à 150 meters / 164 yards). You can check Fonty’s store locator through this link to see if Fonty’s yarn is available in a local yarn shop near you. You can also use any other yarn that matches gauge.

SHOP IT & PIN IT

The Rosehip Sweater pattern is available in my webshop and on Ravelry. You can also save the pattern on Pinterest if you want to purchase the pattern later. This link takes you to a pin with the Ravelry link.
