My latest design is ready for testing! I’m super excited about this brand new, beginner friendly (!!) design. The stitch pattern might look intimidating, but this sweater is quite an easy knit. The yardage might look overwhelming, but keep in mind that Eden is worked up with fingering weight yarn held together. Please fill out the form below if you’d like to test the Eden sweater. The form can be found after all of the info – you’ll have to scroll all the way down to find it.
Eden is a warm and comfy sweater. It’s a little cropped and it has the cutest balloon sleeves. The sweater features an interesting stitch pattern, which is way easier than it looks. Because of the simple construction and the easy stitch pattern, this design is very beginner friendly. Eden is designed with naturally dyed, non-superwash yarns from Hook & Light. These yarns knit up beautifully and create an interesting texture. The natural colors are absolutely stunning and make this piece a real showstopper. Eden is worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The sleeves are worked in the round and are later attached to the body. Eden is designed to have some positive ease around the bust, but not too much (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches).

GARMENT MEASUREMENTS
Choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Take your body measurements and choose the size that corresponds with them. The recommended ease for this design is approx. 0 – 10 cm (0 – 4”) of positive ease. The measurements below are the finished garment measurements, not your own.
A = Chest circumference
B = Armhole depth
C = Armpit to hip length
D = End of sleeve width (circumference) for wrist
E = Overall length

MATERIALS
Needles:
- 6 mm circular needle (US size 10, UK size 4) or other needle size that matches gauge. I recommend using an 80 or 100 cm circular for the body, depending on the size you’re knitting. The sleeves can be worked on a 40 cm circular needle, but DPNs or the magic loop method may be easier for the smaller sizes.
- 5 mm 60 circular needle (US size 8, UK size 6) for the neck ribbing, and 5 mm DPNs or circular needle for the sleeve ribbing. You can use DPNs or the magic loop method with a longer circular needle.
Yarn:
- Fingering weight yarn held together, approx. 1000, (1150, 1300, 1400) [1550, 1700, 1800] (1950, 2075, 2200) meters / 1100, (1275, 1425, 1550) [1700, 1875, 1975] (2150, 2275, 2400) yards of MC and 600, (650, 750, 800) [900, 975, 1050] (1125, 1200, 1275) meters / 675, (725, 825, 875) [1000, 1075, 1150] (1250, 1325, 1400) yards of CC. I used Falkland Merino 4ply in the colorway ‘Carnival’ from Hook & Light for my main color and ‘Dependable’ Corriedale 4ply in the colorway ‘Logwood’ from Hook & Light for my contrast color. Both yarns are naturally dyed using plant-based dyes, non-superwash, and respectively 100% non-sw Falkland merino wool and 100% Corriedale wool. Falkland Merino and Dependable Corriedale come in 100g skeins (à 400m meters / 437 yards) and are available through www.hookandlight.com. Hook & Light has generously offered a 15% discount code if you use their yarn for this test. You are by no means obligated to use the same yarn. You are free to use any other yarn that matches gauge.
Other tools:
