I’m beyond excited to finally introduce you to my latest summer design: Myrtle! I made my sample back in April, but I didn’t have time to write up the pattern (let alone grade it) until June because I was so busy with my studies. My fabulous testers still finished the test knit quick enough to release the pattern while we still have some warm days ahead of us. And the good news? It’s a super quick knit, so you can finish yours and wear it during those last summer days! I’ve been wearing mine a LOT this summer.
Myrtle is a simple and elegant summer tee. The tee features puffy set-in cap sleeves, i-cord edges, and an adorable i-cord tie in the front. It’s a super quick knit because it’s worked up on 7 mm needles, and nevertheless it’s got great drape! Front, back, and sleeves are worked separately, after which the shoulder and side seams are closed. The i-cord edges are added in the end.
Myrtle is designed to have some negative ease around the bust (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches), but you can also opt for 0 – 10 cm (0 – 4 inches) of positive ease if you prefer wearing your garments with a little more positive ease. The pattern includes instructions for a body with or without waist shaping. I made my sample with waist shaping, because I LOVE a good amount of waist shaping. I really think I should incorporate that in more of my designs!
The pattern is available in English and Dutch. It contains instructions for sizes XS – 5XL (finished bust sizes 70 – 150 cm / 27½ – 59 inches).
Myrtle is designed with Wool and the Gang’s Tina Tape – a super airy and breathable summer yarn. Tina Tape is a lovely smooth flat tape yarn, made from eucalyptus tree fiber. It’s available in a wide range of gorgeous colors. I used the colorway Eucalyptus Green for my sample. Tina Tape is a worsted weight 100% Lyocell (Tencel) yarn that comes in 100 g balls (à 150 meters / 164 yards). It’s available at www.woolandthegang.com. You can get a 15% discount on your first order from Wool and the Gang through this link. You can also use any other yarn that matches gauge.
The Myrtle Tee pattern is available in my webshop and on Ravelry. You can also save the pattern on Pinterest if you want to purchase the pattern later. This link takes you to a pin with the Ravelry link.
