How is it mid February already?! When I started this blog, I was quite intent on posting regularly, but somehow I feel like I blinked since my last post in December 2020. I guess I’m simply too busy working, studying, knitting, etc. to be spending a serious amount of time on this blog. Which is probably the reason why I’m writing a very belated blog post about the release of the Eden sweater – I dropped the pattern on February 4th. But anyway, on to the sweater.
Eden is a warm and comfy sweater. It’s a little cropped and it has the cutest balloon sleeves. The sweater features an interesting stitch pattern, which is way easier than it looks. Because of the simple construction and the easy stitch pattern, this design is very beginner friendly. Eden is worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The sleeves are worked in the round and are later attached to the body. Eden is designed to have some positive ease around the bust, but not too much (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches).
The pattern is available in English, Dutch and a sans-serif version for those with reading or vision issues. It contains instructions for finished bust sizes 75 – 165 cm / 29½ – 65 inches.
Eden is designed with the loveliest botanically dyed non-sw yarns from Hook & Light. These yarns knit up beautifully and create an interesting texture. The natural colors are absolutely stunning and make this piece a real showstopper. Hook and Light is a small natural dye business run by two sisters based in Cambridge, UK. They dye all of their yarn by hand in small batches using only natural dyes, many of which they grow, forage or recycle from kitchen scraps.
